I wish there was a way to unload embedded hatch patterns. I will be working from an old drawing and have deleted out all the hatch patterns and used new ones. To be able to convieniently manage the patterns, I would like to delete out the ones that arn't in use. Keeps things cleaner and easier to read.

I could be wrong here but I think you want to Purge the file.

In our Dcadwin.ini file you can check the settings in the following area:

Code: Select all[Purge]
LineTypes(Manual)=TRUE
Symbols(Manual)=TRUE
Layers(Manual)=TRUE
HatchPatterns(Manual)=TRUE
LineTypes(Automatic)=TRUE
Symbols(Automatic)=TRUE
Layers(Automatic)=FALSE
HatchPatterns(Automatic)=TRUE

A value of true in any of the (Automatic) settings will remove unused entities when a drawing is closed & automatically purged. The (Manual) settings will purge when using Purge from the File drop down menu. Adjust the values as you need, save the ini file restart Datacad, open and close your drawing and you should be set. It will not remove entities types/definitions that are still being used.

Actually, the Manual settings can be changed right in the File/Purge dialog...

If you want to "preload" any standard linetypes and/or hatch patterns -- or especially empty layers -- in your default files, then you do not want to have these automatically purged.

Graeme - I had tried to purge the file, but it did not work. I was pretty sure I was doing it the right way, but now that I think about it, I might have been backwards.
