What features would you like to see added to a future version of DataCAD?

Specifically Extend and Trim.

I would like to see a global trim/extend feature.

Could go something like this:

Command: Trim / Global
... now anything you click will trim to the nearest entity. If you hold down shift (ctl, alt... whatever) it will toggle to Extend.

This should include arcs, polylines, splines and ellipse as well as lines.

This is of course all lines have to be in the same plane.

Are you asking for a One Line Trim that figures out by itself which line to trim to and which side is the "outside?"

Exactly, however it would also figure out if it is between two lines and trim (partial) that line between the two.

By simply clicking the line where you want it to "disappear".

Now I know the ability to select the line you want to trim to is very powerful, I just think that this add on would make clean-up easier in some cases.

Have you tried free trim? It's located under Cleanup as S5 FreeTrim.
You can do an area around all your entities (or mask specific types
when you select) as the trimming entities, then snip pieces out as you
like. Be aware that when you select "begin" to start that layer search
doesn't apply. All entities are fair game. Yeah, it's a workaround
with only partial usability, but it's a handy feature.

Yeah I have tried "Free Trim" and it is not very "Free".
I found that it does not allow you to clip to symbols. That does not make it very free to me.
I just stopped using it.

Hello Eric 'Boof',
You are suggesting something like a 'free trim' with a pre-selection of all entities in the drawing ?

This is a very interesting approach. I like it.

Same layer, Lyrsearch toggle on/off... Let's elaborate some more on this.
I like very much the idea to use Shift and Control keys among our commands. It is very handy and memory related with other Windows applications.

Thanks,
Miguel

You know, this is the most handy trick I found out when using AutoCAD.
Just select Trim (or Extend), then right click (or enter) to make it global and start clicking away... hold shift and your are inverting the command. I use it every time I am in AutoCAD.

I do remember using that in Autocad, and it was very handy indeed. I would like to see more Shift/Ctrl key use to enhance our commands too.
