What features would you like to see added to a future version of DataCAD?

What I wish is that.....

When I make an image, I don't just want that layer to be on, I want it on exclusively. This cannot be hard to do, but why am I the only user wishing this?

Are you wanting a 'Layer Always On' toggle?

Not quite. I want it on exclusively, i.e. all the others off. I'm sick of L,F4ing it all the time.

Layer manager
Right click the layer, select Active Only.

That is not a solution. As I said, I'm sick of L, F4 but at least it's usually quicker than using the layer manager. All I want is another button in the save menu. There is room for an other eighteen.

I'm not sure if everyone is understanding the request.
Are you asking that while in the 3d menu, after a hide command, you want the image to be placed on a new layer and to have that become the only layer on immediately.
Sound like a good request to add another selection in addition to the
ActiveLayer, NewLayer, LayerFile, Clipboard, Offset options.
F6 could be NewActOn.

This is a good suggestion but I wonder if, since you are going from a 3d view to a layer that is now 2d, would it be possible to automatically switch you back to a 2d view at the same time?

YES!!!

I wasn't actually looking for this after a hide, just after snapshot - J,S9,S6 - for which I use an icon. After all these years I have just realised it is the same menu!

I wasn't actually looking for it as F6 in that layer menu either, just as an extra to the on/off in the next menu, but I'll take the F6 NewActOn.

There has been gnashing of teeth and tearing of hair for years on this matter. It can't be hard to add thnis vital feature, but when I have raised it before I was studiously ignored. I'm now relieved to see all the traffic here.

And yes, Nida's proposal sounds a really good improvement.

I might add that I tried extending the macro attached to the icon sometime last century, but I gave up because I couldn't nominate the layer. Now there is a better understanding of the problem, there may be some possibility here.
