Smart Arrow Wish

How about an offset option to be able to consistently start an arrow the same distance away from the "from" object?

For example, since arrows usually start at text, the midpoint of the text line could be chosen and the smart arrow would actually start a short distance away from that point. Perhaps use a relative distance, like that used for arrow size. Have it default to zero for those who don't wish to use this feature.

Hello Melina,

That's a good suggestion. In the meantime, try this...

- Draw the arrow, then GetSnap ( [Shift] + Middle Button ) on the location for the arrowhead.
- In the GetSnap Menu, select (X,Y) + (X,Y) Distance.
- Enter an X, and Y distance that is 'short' of your snap point like 3" positive or negative depending on which side the arrow is on.

Oooh - Thanks Mark! That will certainly work for me short term (and is exactly what I am proposing to automate).

Once you draw one the way you want it, Copy / Drag with the insertion point snapped to the text. And then use the Curves/Polylines/Edit/Move Vertex to move the arrowhead.

Yep, that's a good one too. Been doing others as well - just wishing away extra keystrokes & mouse clicks. ;)
