What features would you like to see added to a future version of DataCAD?

Some ideas to further develop horizontal and inclined 'slab' entities:

1. Allow the option of only displaying the top surface of a slab when in Plan View. This is particularly useful with inclined slabs (ramps, roof slopes, handrails etc.) where the slab was created perpendicular or has been rotated off the horizontal and shows both the z-b and z-h surfaces in plan. This then allows the 3D slab(s) to be used in plan drawings without the need for a separate 2D 'trace' layer to make the drawings legible and would be similar to smart walls. Using ctrl-right mouse click could be used to open a window to enable/disable this feature,

2. Create a "Universal" slab by combining the features of covered polylines (and all the EDIT command features) plus 3D horizontal slabs allowing it to be edited in ANY view, B-tangents to align the crosshair in any view, stretching or push-pull of an edge or surface in any view, even after the slab has been rotated off the horizontal plane. Adding, moving or deleting a vertex along an inclined slab would also maintain the correct points in space to allow the changes to be made along the slope,

3. Trim to entities - allows slabs to accurately trim to other surfaces to create an amended slab that fits the space and entities it connects to,

4. Indents (partial "voids") - define a 'void' but only have the slab 'void' indent into the master slab a nominated depth rather than a full void. Consider also negative 'voids' or raised 'indents' on the surface of slabs,

5. Hide facets option - useful where a number of segmented slab entities are used such as a curved ramp. This would allow a plan or elevation view to only show the outer profile of the slab(s) with the user-option of enabling/disabling facets to the top surface in plan view,

6. Further develop the recent Slabs Pitch/Angle/Grade options to allow downward slopes created top down and is useful when a higher floor level is known as a start point. Also consider curved and spiral slope/ramp features,

7. Allow one or more slabs to be 'joined' to create a new single slab whilst retaining the above editable features,

8. Supports tapered slabs with the z-h at varying RL's, whilst the z-b is constant,

Thanks.

Hi Mark,

This is already possible by entering a negative Pitch or Angle.
