When doing an erase / area command and you hit F1 during, it will erase anything it crosses, right... well not in the case of hatches.

That would be a small but nice add on.

I can second that one .......... sounds handy

It will actually erase the hatch if your box contains at least one of the vertices of the bounding polyline of the hatch pattern.

Paul is right, but I agree with 'Boof'.

The crossing could be at any border point, not necessarily on a vertex.
My vote for your suggestion.
