My first CAD program (Point-Line 1986) had a option I still am looking for in DATACAD, when I select the Dimensioning Menu. String, when a string option is activated (as you would Entity or Group in other menus) a continuous string of dimensions would occur. In other words. I would click the first point to dimension, click the 2nd point, then the location of the dimension line. Just like DATACAD does now, however with string, to dimension the next location I would just have to click on it. The dimension line would automatically align itself next to the first dimension. I could very quickly dimension 6,7 points with only a few clicks.
I believe you are looking for the stringline (F10) command.
