Since I'm in a real posting streak today:
I've pleaded for this before: Save As Copy
This will save a copy of the current file with a different name (say a backup file - XYZplan_[date].aec), but you stay in the current file (XYZplan.aec). Currently "Save As" dumps you into the newly named file, which you then have to close and then re-open your original file to continue working on.
