It would very helpful:
A) To have the option to always have the layer manager on.
B) Be able to Move and Copy entities to Layers via the layer manager vs the old style side menu.
C) Filter layers as you can do in the old menus. (view only layers by filters)
OK, those are legit requests, now for a bit of craziness....
One other layer item I was thinking of, it would be cool to have sub-layers:
Main layer: First Floor Plan
Sub-Layers:windows, doors, dims, txt, etc.
I tend to create a lot of layers and usually try an name them with a common prefix (hence the need for filters) but sub-layers would really go a long way in keeping the layer filing system manageable. Modelling makes the need for a system like this even more desirable:
Main Layer: 3D Door1
Sub-Layers: Frame, Door, Glazing
or
Main Layer: East Wall
Sub Layer: 3D Door1
3D Door1 Sub Layers: Frame, Door, Glazing
MMmmmm... Laaayerrrrs....
EDIT: actually I just realized this may be accomplished to some extent with the new symbol editing. I still think the sub-layers would rock though....
