What features would you like to see added to a future version of DataCAD?

What would really be cool is the ability to change the linetype of only
the extension line on one side, leaving the other extension line and
the dim line solid. This would be great for centerlining windows and
doors or any other thing that needed the centerline linetype. Or better
yet, the ability to make an extension line "centerline" upon dimensioning.

Maybe there could be a toggle when asked "select the first point of
distance to dimension" that is called "Center", then when using stringline,
each successive point (when asked "select next point to dimension to"),
there could be another "Center" toggle that allows us to designate a
centerline before we pick that point. Since only one line would be drawn
(to avoid the overlapping extension/witness lines), the centerline would
show up in the display automatically. DataCAD could even make the
"invisible" extension line of the one dimension a centerline linetype, and
a later Change/Dim. Style/Line1On or Line2On would turn on this
centerline.

I forgot to add that there could be settings within DimStyle to pick the
spacing (and even color?) of the centerline. It could even be a different
linetype.

Yep, defintely a wish list item!

Are we forgetting that there is a macro named CLX that will allow you to change any witness line to a different linetype?

Yes. Actually, I don’t think I ever knew that. I’m off to see if I can find it.

Are you still using that macro? A few years back, I was having an occasional crash and loss of info related to that macro, so I stopped using it.

No, actually, I never used it. I just knew of its existence.

Typically, I have the extensions turned off and add them in on a Dims layer with whatever lines I need. One of the main reasons is that we "cut" all horizontal extensions that intersect vertical extension lines for clarity.

I would like for it to automatically erase portions of extentions that intersect other extensions. This could be a toggle for H or V to be erased. Or I'd even be happy with a "Invisible" brush that you simply select the area of the extension to not print while retaining associative dimensions.

Then there's the whole "Editable Associative Text" thing.....
