What would really be cool is the ability to change the linetype of only
the extension line on one side, leaving the other extension line and
the dim line solid. This would be great for centerlining windows and
doors or any other thing that needed the centerline linetype. Or better
yet, the ability to make an extension line "centerline" upon dimensioning.
Maybe there could be a toggle when asked "select the first point of
distance to dimension" that is called "Center", then when using stringline,
each successive point (when asked "select next point to dimension to"),
there could be another "Center" toggle that allows us to designate a
centerline before we pick that point. Since only one line would be drawn
(to avoid the overlapping extension/witness lines), the centerline would
show up in the display automatically. DataCAD could even make the
"invisible" extension line of the one dimension a centerline linetype, and
a later Change/Dim. Style/Line1On or Line2On would turn on this
centerline.
