3dStairs macro

Could the 3dStairs module be revised to include balanced stairs. These are where instead of having a landing, the treads radiate out from the the newel post as the stair changes direction and continues to climb. The treads are "triangular" and the leading treads and following treads of the flight are also splayed. There are a number of different methods/formulas for calculating the exact tread layout that can be applied to a macro. These types of stairs are commonly used (and legal) in domestic construction European countries. PS Spirit has this option.

Hello John,

This is a very useful request.

My guess is that this macro is closer of a first parametric engine to be improved on DataCAD.
All the main informations you should need to complete the stairs are already on the database. Those lacking could be entered by the user, which would take the control of the result.

The problem is precisely how to link it dinamically with the model, not plastering the changes that the designer would be targetting.

Our hope is that Dave and his Crew can find some time to start working on this challenge.

This would be a great start for DC 12, IMHO.

Thanks,
Miguel
