I export and import .dwg files to our engineer. When I get them back, any dimension text that I had changed the position of is back to the default position, so I have to go back and fix it all again. What a pain! Is there any way to avoid this problem? It doesn't seem to matter what version I export it as.

You probably won't like my solution but here it is: Don't send text to the engineers. It doesn't round trip well. That's why I work in a base plan file and put the text in a separate sheet file with the base plan xref'd. If the engineers want the text, I send them the sheet file too, but I never use the return version.
