What is the easiest way to take a drawing sheet that includes clipped xrefs and make it into a dwg for transfer to auto cad without ending up with all the stuff beyond the the clip showing up?

I was recently surprised to find that you can export clipped x-refs. If I recall correctly, the key is to be sure that "Automatically export reference files" is checked in your .dwg export settings. If it is not checked by default, you can change that in your Program Preferences, DXF/DWG tab.

Until v12 gives us this ability, this is the best workaround in v11. Be careful to only bind the layers that are on in the XRef.
