I have a DXF file from a client that comes up with a message error in file is there any way to work around this

What does the error message say? Do you know what program the DXF file came from? If you can get a DWG (R2000 or R14 will work) instead, that would probably be preferable.

When I try to open the DXF file DataCad reads (error in file). I am using
DataCad 11.05.02. A program I have never heard of (Tunch) I suspect it
is one of those $39.99 Programs.
