I was wondering if you could help me. I just exported a dxf to a customer of mine. They are using AutoCAD and can not open the file. Here is the error they are getting:

Error: degenerate hatch vertex data
Invalid or incomplete DXF input --drawing discarded.

I'm not sure what is going on. I did a layer util and that didn't help either. I've exported dxf's before and opened them in AutoCAD with no problem. If you could help me I'd really appriciate it.

What version of DataCAD are you using?

What version of AutoCAD are they using?

Have you tried sending them a DWG instead of a DXF?

As Tony said, a DWG would be much better -- associtive hatch and associative dims are supported in DWG; and not in DXF. I have found that R14 works best, but R2000 is also good.
