Technical Q's about o2c Interactive!

Greetings,

When o2cI! does a rendering, does it tend to be RAM limited, or is the speed more dependent on the CPU? For example, a dual core, 2.2gHz Athlon 64 4200+ machine with 2GB of RAM takes 45 mins to an hour to render a high quality, ray traced, 1280x1024 image; while a single core (but multi-threading) 2.8gHz Pentium 4 machine with 1GB of RAM took 2 hours and 35 minutes to do a similar image.

So, either the Athlon 64 is a lot better at rendering in o2cI! and/or the larger RAM helps? If it is the RAM, or partly the RAM, would 3-4GB help? (In order to access 4GB, the program would have to work in 64bit Windows, which it might already, but it then might be able to take advantage of the extra speed of 64bits, as well?)

Could (or does) o2c Interactive! use a dual core CPU and/or 64bit processing?
