Is there a way to temporarily install 14 on a laptop for a few days?
I can run 12 but can't use 14 files.

Do you have v14? If so, you could deactivate your v14 license on your main system and activate it on your laptop. Then once your on your laptop deactivate it and then reactivate it on your main system.
If not you could run the version 15 test drive for 45 days. Not sure what the limits are, but you can find it here.
