Contrary to almost everything on posts, I have found a version of the hardlock driver that will run on Windows 7,8 !

Download the drive after you have installed the CAD app, you may have to remove the old hardlock drivers, found under Device mgr, USB.

Those drivers look to be the same thing, but you can download the latest Datacad working hardlock driver from Datacad's page here:

http://datacad.com/update/update_hardlock.html

Main thing to remember is to install the driver first before inserting the hardlock, and then not updating the driver via windows update when it is offered. If something else has been installed, you would have to remove that driver via the device manager.
