Can't snap to points on nested xRefs

I'm having trouble with snapping on nested xRefs. I have unit files that I xRef into a building file to clip them and make a clean building plan. When I xRef that building file into a new condo document file, I cannot snap onto anything in the building xRef. I have to strike a line across it, then I can snap to an intersection between the line and the xRef, but that takes a really long time. Any suggestions?

I think there is a good chance that this is due to the object snap dynamic flyouts. Turn that off, and the flyouts won't happen but you should be able to snap to the XRef.

Thanks Neil, but it still doesn't work. It's frustrating because on one layer I have two xRefs like this. One snaps just fine and the other won't snap at all. I checked and all of the xRef settings are identical.

If you Ctrl+Right click on the xref, Xref Tools, is Dynamic Snapping enabled?
