I'm planning on upgrading my DataCad 11 to the latest release 16. Am I able to load the program into two computers (Home Desktop and Windows Surface) with one (1) license or do I have to purchase an additional seat?

You can use one license. You have to deactivate it on one and then activate it on the other, while you are online.

Think of it as if you had a hard-lock that you would be able to use on either computer, but only one. If you leave the hard-lock in one and forget to take it, you are out of luck. The good part is that this is electronic so you don't ever lose it or break it.
I wasn't particularly happy with the change because I had never had a problem with the hard-lock. But, this activating and deactivating is even better to me than the hard-lock.
Plus, I really like some of the enhancements that I got with the upgrade. I hope that you do also.
