For some reason, my aec files are not "crunching" when saving. Have I accidentally set something that prohibits the file from being reduced in size?

For example, I am having to split my aec files into numerous files due to load/reload timing... I have a drawing that is 12,487kb with 4 sheets of plots. Another file, one sheet only, that is 3,269kb.

I have tried PAK files, but didn't help. Tried purging symbols, no help...

Any suggestions?

I have traced the problem to an xref file. For some reason the xref, which is 35kb in size, became over 155 thousand kb once inserted into the drawing file. After deleting the xref and then re-inserting the xref, the drawing file reduces in size from over 350 thousand kb to 76kb...

Not sure what happened, but that solved the issue, as well as the "Checking output availability" message when trying to plot.
