dxf plants ?

I export my buildings into Bryce 6 to create real
skies, water, plants, shades and shadows, etc.

But Bryce bushes are pretty much limited to taking
one of their trees and pushing them down to where
the trunk is underground. Then I copy the same tree,
move it a few pixels, then color that to create annual
bush flowering. It actually works pretty well.

But now a client has come along who wants wisteria
hanging from an arbor. Faking that would be a major
hassle.

My search online for downloadable plant dxfs finds one
main provider, and it wants $120 to $600 to "register".
It drew me there by saying one download of it would
be "fee". Liars.

So: can anyone tell me a good provider of plant dxfs?

Thanks

Tom

I have no idea if this will work, but if you use SketchUp Pro are there any plants available via SKP that you could export out to DXF? Just a thought (though maybe not too thought out ...) ....

Alan

Thanks for the suggestion.
I went to the Sketchup site earlier. I didn't dig to deep
because I was looking for for some mother lode of plants.

Also, after making a list of what file types Bryce can import,
I don't remember seeing one for export from Sketchup.

Now that I'm fairly frustrated with the lack of products for
less that several hundred $ (mainly to use one plant one time,
for all I know), and a lack of hanging plants on most sites
generally, I will hit the research trail again tomorrow.

Actually, Xfrog had the perfect Wisteria. (look it up if you're
not familiar with it - it is amazing, I see why the client wants it.

I'll call Xfrog tomorrow, because some of their plants are
free. I'll see if I can swing that.

Thanks again

Old post but I'm in need of a great Wisteria myself.
I've not been able to find it on XFROG's site...how did your search turn out?

Thanks for the reply.
I'll check XFrog again. But, like I said, I did try, and
whether it was them or another, it looked like I had to
send them hundreds of bucks.

So, if I turn up nothing at half-way reasonable cost,
please let me know if you succeed, and I'll give them
a little more business..

Thanks again.

The $100's of dollars wouldn't be out of the questions for a bundle...their stuff is top shelf. I'll look again on their site and see if I can find it.
Are you looking for 3D or 2D? Something as complicated as a 3D Wisteria can get pretty heavy.
3D Wharehouse has one in SKP that you can convert to DWG or DXF or even import into DataCAD:

It's not bad but I'm looking for a little more accurate detailing.

Thanks. 3-d. For my modeling I use XP,
and sketchup says I need 7 or newer.

No need pursuing this further. I no longer
need it. And I don't have time to respond more.

Thanks again
