Contour search hatch and fill in imported dwg

When importing a dwg the contour search option under boundary for hatch and fill doesn't function anymore. It says no line/arc found, although it is there and closed. Is there a setting that needs changing when importing a dwg? Normally there is no problem.

Couple of quick suggestions:
1. check Layer Search is ON,
2. turn off clipcube if it's inside one,

Identify the "lines" and make sure they are actually lines.

Agree with Robert - the lines could be 3D lines and they don't play well within Dcad (nor do 3D lines from Dcad play well in Acad).

No that's not the problem. Checked all that. The rectangle option under boundary functions fine. Any other suggestions?

I have had that same type of thing occur. It could be any number of things. Usually a shape that is not fully closed, line types, Z heights, etc. I usually just create another layer for the hatch and trace (snap) to the offending shape.
