Tangents or DirDist Bug

I'm not sure which is at fault, but most likely, it is Dirdis.

There is a bug in DataCAD 11.08 using Tangents (B or b) and DirDist (with Ortho on) to Move, Copy, or Stretch an entity in relation to itself. This is not the way it worked previously in 11 nor in v10 nor LTv11.07.

When the entity is moved, copied, or stretched the specified distance perpendicularly (sic), the specified distance result is orthographic. I couldn't figure out what was happening when moving, coping, or stretching parallel. The workaround is to use offset until this is fixed (I don't know of a workaround for stretching). See illustration below.

Check under Settings and see if Dist. Sync is turned off. Just a thought.

I've Dist.Sync. ON.

Thanks,

Thank you Dick and Miguel. I should have checked that before shouting out.

Regarding my previous bug email:

No bug in the program, only in my settings. Dist. Sync was not ON for some reason. I was working on an ACAD imported detail when I noticed the described behavior. My default drawings and the dozen or so files I checked this morning Dist. Sync was on. Can importing an ACAD drawing shut Dist. Sync off?

Good catch guys. I never even noticed that setting. It has always been on in my drawings though.

This forum is great! :D

Hi Daniel,

I have tested some .DWG imports and no change was noted in this setting. Certainly can be a hidden short-cut (or a key combination) that could have caused that. I can't remind anything, btw.
