XREF crashing

Something new started today. When I go to replace an xref or delete it altogether, DataCAD crashes out. This happens in multiple drawings. Any suggestions?

1. Try using Layer/Erase to erase the layer contents but not the layer, then re-load the xref onto the empty layer.
2. Another option is to use the File/Repair Tool on the xref file as it may have some corrupted entities if it's causing crashes across multiple files (if DC19 includes the Repair Tool),

I tried those. The first didn't work and there isn't a File/Repair in v. 19.

You have to have all drawings closed for the Repair tool to show up in the File menu.

It sounds like the problem is in the xref file(s). If there's more than one in the master file then it's a process of elimination if you can't use the Repair Tool and suggest you simply open each xref file one at a time and do a File/Purge as a starting point. You could also try downloading the v22 trial version if your funds don't allow you to upgrade and use the Repair Tool on the xref file(s).
