deselecting entity

Somebody ask one day, if you can deselecting an entinty if you select by error, i dont remember who... but
Last night I want to move about 20 lines with multiple drag and I select an unwanted line, then I press shift then click, and it deselected!!!
wow, I dont know about this feature...
