With the demise of the Gateway Programmable keyboards, we now use
the X-keys Desktop model. These programmable tools are extremely
useful and pay for themselves in not too many billable hours. We swear
by them. Personally I have about 50 different shortcuts programmed in.
Simple ones like 1-line trim, 1-line trim/entity, pt to pt measures, change
text content, etc, to commands embedded deep into 3rd party macros,
like revision clouds. Also I have 1.5, 3.5, 5.5, 7.25, 9.25 and 11.25"
offsets, arrows, horiz slab, on and on. All at the touch of a single button.
Every cad new hire gets an X-keys pad. Some use them more than
others, but they're one of the best values out there.

I simply can't imagine using DataCAD without them. Okay, I can, because
I don't have one at home, but use DataCAD for simple home projects
where budgets and schedules aren't a big deal.

Go for it!
