How do you make a Octagon in roofit, and what to use.

Roofit doesn't do multi-sided roofs easily a lot of editing. I have used 3d inclined slabs, 3 Edge bot.

Yeah Roofit will not create a 3D roof for octogons, but you can trick it to do the work for you. See the attached image of how you can do this. I hope this is helpful.

I generally just use Rfbldr2. It is easier and I like it a lot better than Roofit. I can't remember the last time I used Roofit, but I use Rfbldr2 all the time.

Where can one get a copy of Rfbldr2? I check the Cheap Tricks Ware and it said that it was only available directly from the provider, "People Software". I have tried a couple of internet searches to locate People Software and Rfbldr2 (Roof Builder 2) and have been unsuccessful. Thank you for any information you can provide.

Arthur, I bought it years ago and I don't really remember the particulars. I probably bought it directly from Peoplesoft. As soon as I get a chance I will try to find some information on it and post it here.

I have a macro called RFTools. What is the difference between this and RBTools?

Thanks for the sketch on putting together an octagon roof.

Went to the RBT site .... not much info there as to what is different
between RBT and the Roofit macro already supplied by Datacad.

Could someone using RBT please post a picture of the menu
that shows from withinn Datacad.
