You can edit unexploded symbols on the fly. You can save these changes to the current drawing only and/or to your hard disk. Also, you can save the changes to a new symbol definition.

 To edit an unexploded symbol in your drawing:
  1. Place your cursor on the symbol and press [Ctrl]+[right click] to expose the pop-up menu.
  2. Select Symbol Tools, slide your cursor to the right to see the submenu, and pick Edit Symbol. The symbol you selected appears along with the Edit menu.
  3. Make changes to the symbol.
  4. Save the symbol using one of the following methods:
    1. Close the Symbol Editor by clicking the [x] button in the upper right of the drawing window and choose Yes to save the changes to the symbol in the current drawing only.
    2. Select Save As from the File pull-down menu. Supply a new file name and select Save to store the edited symbol to your hard drive.
After returning to the drawing, you may overwrite the symbol definition on the hard drive by clicking the folder icon on the Symbol Browser and choosing Drawing. Right click the symbol and choose Save As, then pick the existing symbol file to overwrite it and click Save.

NOTE
There is a program setting that enables you to access Edit Symbol by double-clicking the entity instead of using the [Ctrl]+[right click] method. Select Program Preferences from the Tools pull-down menu and choose the Misc tab. In the Double Click section, check Symbol Editor.
