You can edit unexploded symbols on the fly. You can save these changes to the current drawing only and/or to your hard disk. Also, you can save the changes to a new symbol definition.
To edit an unexploded symbol in your drawing:

NOTE
There is a program setting that enables you to access Edit Symbol by double-clicking the entity instead of using the [Ctrl]+[right click] method. Select Program Preferences from the Tools pull-down menu and choose the Misc tab. In the Double Click section, check Symbol Editor.

To edit an unexploded symbol in your drawing:
- Place your cursor on the symbol and press [Ctrl]+[right click] to expose the pop-up menu.
- Select Symbol Tools, slide your cursor to the right to see the submenu, and pick Edit Symbol. The symbol you selected appears along with the Edit menu.
- Make changes to the symbol.
- Save the symbol using one of the following methods:
- Close the Symbol Editor by clicking the [x] button in the upper right of the drawing window and choose Yes to save the changes to the symbol in the current drawing only.
- Select Save As from the File pull-down menu. Supply a new file name and select Save to store the edited symbol to your hard drive.
