You can access the properties of any entity in your drawing, change them, and apply the results immediately. The preview window lets you see how your changes affect three-dimensional entities.
To control an entity’s properties:
You will see different properties available, based on the entity you select:
To control an entity’s properties:
- Place your cursor on an entity in your drawing. Then hold down the [Ctrl] key and simultaneously right-click ([Ctrl]+[right click]).
- Select Properties from the pop-up menu. This displays the Properties dialog box and the Preview window.
- Define the entity’s properties:
- Preview options – use Display 3D Preview, Include Ground Plane, and Render by Color boxes to determine the way the object appears in the Preview window.
- Layer – select the layer that contains the object.
- Color – select the color of the line that will appear in your drawing.
- Line Type and Spacing – set the way the line will be drawn.
- Pen Style, Spacing, Line Weight, and Overshoot – set Pen Style for display.
- Material – select from materials you defined previously.
- Other properties are available which are unique to the type of entity you have selected.
NOTE
There is a program setting that enables you to access the properties editor by double-clicking the entity instead of using the [Ctrl]+[right click] method. Select Program Preferences from the Tools pull-down menu and choose the Misc tab. In the Double Click section, check Entity Property Editor.
