Ask questions about DataCAD 20, DataCAD LT 20, or previous versions here.
We run datacad 9 in our office and are considering upgrading finally to 12. I installed the 12 test drive and am having problems opening some of our dc5 files. it seams the smaller ones open fine but the larger ones datacad dumps out of before it opens them.
Is there a limitation of any kind that 12 will convert from a dc5?
I tried getting rid of xref's but that did not help.
any ideas?
thanks

There is a file size limit of (I think) 2 MB uncompressed. That is why you are getting dumped.
DC12 will open those just fine.

Hi Guys,
The filesize limit for the Test Drive is 5,192 KB, uncompressed as in the DC 11/12 fashion.
Comming from .DC5 format it will have near double size in .AEC format (uncompressed), because of double-precision math.
Thanks,
Miguel
