HI, I thought I read in previous issues of Dbug or maybe this forum, that there was an add on, that could be purchase that did material takeoffs. I do residential designs in Northern Ca some of my competitors from other areas supply the material take offs with the plans. I can do the take off manually, I was just wondering if there was a program that was fairly accurated and fast once it was set up. I not interested in having the materials priced just the quantities.

Have you tried "Estlink" macro ? (You have DC X or previous, as I understood)
I've never been able to make it really useful for us. The software to which it drives the quantities file (Estimator) was never available in Brazil, and the macro should receive some improvements to become more flexible.

This is a thing I would really love to have it back. It was actually discontinued in DC XI, but as you are noting, this is an increasingly requirement from clients, for any designer who wants to deliver a 'plus' service.
