New user here. It seems that it is not possible to change an entity's layer once the entity is created. Please confirm.

You would use the move comand. Hit m on your keyboard or hit your move button. Then you would need to click To Layer button or F4 key.

Hello,
Yes you can change an entities layer after you create the entity. Just go into the move command and you will see an option "ToLayer". Select the option and you will be put into the Layer Menu to pick a layer that you will want to move the entity to. You can also copy entities to different layers as well by going through the same process using Copy command. You have to have Layer Search ON if you are moving/copying entities when your Active Layer is different from the layer the entity to be moved/copied is on.

And that explains why the info wasn't with 'change' info, and yes, now that you mention it, there it is under 'layer.'
