Snapping to an Enlarged symbol

If I foreshorten a unexploded symbol that has arcs and polylines in it, I can no longer snap to it. Not a huge issue, but a bit annoying. [Edit: I should clarify -- I enlarged the X-axis only to 0.707107 (1/2 the square root of 2).]
