Imported 3d Human Figures from SketchUp

I imported some figures from Sketch up recently . In Sketchup they looked colourful and smooth. By the time they were opened in DataCAD they looked angluar and had lost most of the original colours.
My questions.
Is there a way of having onto the smoothed edges?
Is there a way of retaining the original colours?
If not could this be added to the wish list?
