I see that when I cut the code out of Notepad, the very first semi-colon was not picked up and I didn't see that it was missing until just now. If you use the code to create the pattern, put a semi-colon in front of the first line. Or you can delete those four identifier lines. They are just information.

This is the code for the five segment pattern. In this one, the horizontal lines are all continuous. In the other pattern, the horizontal lines are each only as long as a single brick run.

[Header]
Scale=200
Angle=0
Display Scale=10
Segments=5

[Segments]
001=0,0,90,0,0,0,512,85,-255
002=0,0,90,128,85,0,512,85,-255
003=0,0,90,256,170,0,512,85,-255
004=0,0,90,384,255,0,512,85,-255
005=0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 85

I cut and pasted your hatch and placed it in both versions 11 and 15. It works fine in version 11 but not in version 15. What am I doing wrong?

Do you mean that it does not work or does not show up?
If it doesn't show, it may be that the scale was left at 200 which is what it defaults to. I left it large like that so that it wouldn't take forever to generate the view in the display window. If your test area in the drawing is small, the scale is too big to show.
I just now cut and pasted for from here to a hatch pattern file for DCADX3 and it worked fine.
Try copying the file from 11 to 15 directly and see if it works then.
Good luck.

Thanks Neil. I completely forgot about the "invisible" files there. That may not apply here, but if it does, he could have hunted for a long while for something that was there, but not showing.

Neil Blanchard wrote:You may need to open the Hatch Manager to load in the patterns you want? There used to be a 'show external' option, but I'm not finding it in v15.

It's on the Misc tab of the Preferences dialog.

What I did was to take the common brick hatch pattern, renamed it and cut and pasted the hatch setup that Woody did for me here in the forum, then pasted it into the renamed hatch pattern and then saved it and restarted datacad. All the other brick hatches show in preview except the new one. When brought into the drawing all I get is the outline. All appropriate boxes are clicked in misc.
