Hello DataCAD Pros,

Is it possible to cut out objects within a hatch pattern? I hatched a shower elevation with the 4x4 hatch pattern and later added a Shower Niche. I'd rater just cut out the tile pattern around the Niche instead of re-hatching it. Would the clip-it command work for this. Please explain.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Go to, Hatch, Boundary, Voids, pick your hatched area. Then select S2 Create New, and use either Rectangle for simple rectangle shapes, Cont. Search to snap to the perimeter of more complex shapes (boundary must be completely closed to work), or leave both of those options unselected to trace around your area using a polyline. Right click to complete the void.

Another option, esp is your shower niche is a symbol like a water closet, add a layer to the symbol, make it the 1st layer, draw a polyline, turn on knockout for that polyline.
Border on/off is your option.
Now you can hatch the floor, put the symbol on a layer after the hatch and it will be blocked out.
