As the Subject Line says, I found the following method works.
1. Create a table in the Draw package within Libre Office.
2. Export the table to a EMF or WMF format
3. Import the EMF or WMF file into DataCAD
4. Enlarge or reformat if required.

Its that easy

Another method involves:
1. Create a table in the Draw package within Libre Office.
2. Copy (Ctrl C) the table in Libre Office
3. Paste Special (MetaFile) in DataCAD
4. Enlarge or reformat if required.

The second method requires a bit more work if the Table in Libre Office Draw has grey background colours

Now if only I could Reference EMF and WMF files into DataCAD.

Another option is to:
1. Install PDF Creator
2. Create a spreadsheet with the required content
3. In PDF Creator, change settings for when saving to jpg format. This is found in the computer's Start menu.
4. Select print. Set the file type to jpg when asked for file name. A jpg file is then created. Remember to save the jpg in the same folder as the DataCAD file into which it is imported (This is important so that Orphaned bitmap errors don't occur when later archiving the DataCAD file)
5. Import the file into DataCAD and resize using the enlarge command.

This option provides the best quality in terms of display.
