Can anyone please tell me where/how I can reinstate the settings so that the current layer, dims, z-base, z-height, etc. are visible at the bottom of the screen? I must have pressed some key by a mistake and all those specs disappeared (now the screen only says "Click first point of new line or wall.".

View, Toolbars, Check Coordinates / Hints. If it is checked, and you don't see it it may have been dragged off the screen. If that's the case let us know and we can post how to reset that condition.
