How do I adjust Insul1 Line Type to a width to fit in a 2 X 4 or 2 X 6 exterior wall? Is there an easier way to draw insulation?

Thanks for any help,

Just change the spacing to 1/2 the wall thickness. For 3 1/2" stud, use 1 3/4" spacing.

Easiest way is with line or change linetype. There have been wishes to be able to use hatch that hasn't come and probably won't.

kennca,

We have a toolbar button flyout for a bunch of different linetypes/spacings. Below are a couple. If you plug this into your 2dtl_win.dtb file (and make some associated bitmaps) you can grab these on the fly. I'd attach the bitmaps I made if there were a way to add attachments here... :D

If you are using DataCAD 11 you can set the spacing for the linetype and save it as a new linetype. This way if you want R-13 you can select the R-13 Linetype from your lines and it will have the spacing set. I saved several just for Insulation:
