I knew at one time how to do this but have forgotten it and cannot find any info on it. How do you link an xref to a go to view?

Go to your view, Open Reference Manager, and check the bubble for the xref's that you want to be linked to that View, and then exit the Manager and Update your view.

Doesn't that work only if the xreferences/views are in the same drawing? How to you link it to a view in a different drawing?

In the Manager, you can pick a view from the xref drawing. Now I'm not sure if that setting is saved when you save the GTV.

Gary,

GoTo View Link makes an XRef act like it is part of the drawing it is in. In other words, you turn on some layers in the drawing and in the XRef - and save a GTV.

If you want to use OTHER layers in that same XRef in another GTV, you can. Turn on the layers in the drawing and in the XRef - and save a GTV.

Now, if you set up GTV's in the XRef'd file ahead of time, so you can use those to quickly toggle on the layers you want to show in various views - and you then save / update the GTV's in the drawing using the XRef.
