I have fieldstone hatch pattern (irregular shaped stones).
I want to calculate the area of stone and the area of mortar joints.
What is the best way of calculating this in Datacad?

One method could be to draw a square, say 3m x 3m, hatch it with the hatching non-associative (exploded) and the origin set to a corner, then on a different layer, use polyline or hatch/fill and contour search to fill each stone, then measure the areas of all the stones to give the total for a 3m x 3m area (9m2). The difference will be the mortar. You might also try contour search on the mortar to see if that works but I'd suspect doing the stones would likely be easier and do the job. Once you have the two areas you can do the maths to calc. the ratio of the stones and mortar.
