Sadly this is not possible directly.

The only way currently to do this is to export the AEC file to DWG then import this DWG in pre-DataCAD 11 versions.

Thanks Tony,

Do you know of a way to do this and not have everything on one layer grouped?

Hello Steve:

An R2000 or R14 DWG will preserve all your layers, and unexploded symbols, and it might even get the colors close to right. You will lose GTV's, MSP sheets, and the like.

If you have to do this with a lot of drawings, or very often, it might make sense to buy DataCAD 11 LT.

Datacad made a big error with this version!

I don't think it was a mistake. Sure it would have been nice to get that Save As feature. However, remember how long the dc5 format lasted...5 versions without any backward compatibility issues.

Now to look forward.

May I ask why you need to open the AEC file in version 10? Are you exporting it for someone else or are you getting it from someone for your use? :?:
