How can you copy an area without creating a resultant group? The way DataCAD is by default, the copied area is one big group and when you unlink the group every "nested" group is also unlinked! This is very inconvenient.

If you have the DC Sprint Macro there is a function named MCopy. This retains the original groupings.

I do wish there was a toggle under copy to retain original groupings. :(

Hello:

I also think that if you use the Windows clipboard (by selecting the entities using Control-E), that you can also avoid the grouping. It also can keep the entites on their own layers, too.

Control-E to select (Copy/Cut with or without an insertion point), and Control-V to Paste. Please note that this can work within a file, or between different files.
