Is there any way to do this in Datacad? Also, what about a way to assign individual properties by object regardless of layer? Thanks in advance.

I would vote for your idea.
Please elaborate some more and place it in the "Whishlist" item section.

Objects can be modified through selection sets. You have to identify the elements in the selection set first, which can be done with a mask to grab by entity, color, linetype, or weight.

From the edit menu,
click Sel.Sets,
click AddtoSet,
click SelSet1 (you can create up to 8 sets)
select what you want to add to the set vis entity, group, area, fence, or mask
mask had the subset choices listed above

If changing everything on a layer, why not pick that layer and turn layer search off? Or am I misunderstanding the question?
