How can you rotate something to a specific angle like in Autocad ?

How can you scale something to a specific size like in Autocad ? (ie: an image is 42" and I want to scale it to 37" but don't want to have to figure out what %-age I am reducing it by)

Hello & welcome!

To rotate, hit R, pick a center of rotation (you can center snap to pick a precise point), and then pick New Angle (F8), and enter the angle either from the menu, or just type it in (DDD.MM.SS). You can use Match to get the angle of an existing line.

Remember that 0 degrees in DataCAD is towards the 3 o'clock position, and angles are *counterclockwise* from there. You can always Invert the angle to go clockwise.

To scale something, hit Alt-E (which is the Enlarge menu), pick a Center of Enlargement, and then click the Enlargement button (F8), and you have lots of options: you can scale every axis by a factor, or scale each axis differently, or you can calibrate all or some axises (sp?). It sounds like you will want to use calibrate: center snap on one end, then the other and then enter .37 and DataCAD gets the factor for you.
