O.k. I downloaded the download manager, but the DC17 download took a lot longer than previous version downloads for some reason. It may be traffic I guess, but can't but help think this new download manager is not downloading as fast as it could...??

Besides that, update installed o.k. & activation was equally swift, this part motored along & was done in a few minutes.

I didn't notice any slow down either, but then I wasn't really paying too much attention to the download time. I agree with Clayton that the install was fast and efficient!

It must have been traffic/bad connection my end, I noticed the download manager at times only limping in at 75/150kb per/sec. No wonder it took forever, I should have disconnected & reconnected or tried another time, 2MB per/sec or more achieved last time & more so on typical downloads.

I was wondering why a download manager is needed, could we not just link to this file & do a save as....!!

The download manager allows resuming after a broken connection.
