O.k. I downloaded the download manager, but the DC17 download took a lot longer than previous version downloads for some reason. It may be traffic I guess, but can't but help think this new download manager is not downloading as fast as it could...??

Besides that, update installed o.k. & activation was equally swift, this part motored along & was done in a few minutes.

I didn't notice any slow down either, but then I wasn't really paying too much attention to the download time. I agree with Clayton that the install was fast and efficient!

My first thought of why a download manager would be for DC LLC's server security?

The download manager allows resuming after a broken connection.

Yep while downloading on the WiFi at Starbucks had several network connection errors, maybe six or seven, each time restart picked up with no problems.
