I have a file with a nested Xref that won't show up.

I get a message: "This drawing contains orphaned references" ... which I assume is the nested Xref I'm speaking of. However when I open the Xref, the Xref nested in it it shows up fine, and there is no message about orphaned references.

Am I explaining this problem clearly?

Any ideas as to what's going on here?

Yes- there's nothing in the Orphaned reference dialogue in either file

If the xref'd file has an xref that contains a file that isn't there or renamed it will show up as an orphaned reference. You'll have to follow all of the xref's back (learned from frustrating experience!).

If you are not using nested XRef's, then turn off Nesting in all of them, and see if that helps.

Turning off nested XREFs in all the Referenced files worked...
